The role

The Senior Project Manager will manage Beamtree’s portfolio of projects in the UK from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation. You will work with internal and external stakeholders including SMEs in Australia to ensure project success. You will bring strong technical knowledge that allows you to contribute to and steer conversations on technical requirements when SMEs cannot be present. You will act as a trusted partner for clients who can help deliver transformational change through implementation of Beamtree’s digital tools, at pace. Whilst UK projects will always be the focus of this role, there may occasionally be opportunities to work on projects overseas.

The Senior Project Manager is a permanent, full-time role based in the United Kingdom with hybrid work flexibility.

Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Detailed project planning and delivery including setting timelines, managing resources, overseeing progress and managing project budgets
  • Work closely with the business and technical teams, ensuring that all components of the project are aligned with the project goals
  • Monitor progress, ensure adherence to deadlines, and be ready to discuss reallocation resources or adjust timelines as needed
  • Ensure that the technical solution meets the defined requirements and passes through appropriate testing stages, including managing UAT, performance testing, and technical reviews
  • Risk management and mitigation including identifying risks early and developing mitigation strategies, with strong data privacy and security acumen
  • Act as a liaison between the customer, business stakeholders and technical team, translating complex technical details that is clear and actionable for executives or non-technical stakeholders
  • Regular reporting in line with Beamtree reporting framework, project team status updates, and communicating progress against project milestones
  • Drive project steering committees targeted to executive stakeholders and act as a credible, trusted representative of Beamtree.

Desired Skills and Experience

Who you are

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Considerable experience (10+ years) working with NHS organisations, particularly acute trusts and integrated care boards in project or programme management roles
  • Exceptional customer relationships management skills and commercial acumen
  • A good understanding of the fundamental drivers of digital strategy for NHS and social care organisations, primarily in England but ideally in other nations of the UK
  • Proven experience in achieving compliance with NHS information governance and security requirements, including completing NHS Data Protection Impact Assessments and navigating GDPR requirements
  • A deeper understanding of technical concepts, specifically around integration, data models, and software architecture
  • A commitment to self-improvement, be self-directed and motivated
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Experience leading technical conversations directly with the client and IT departments, discussing integration requirements and technical dependencies
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with ability to identify technical issues early on and work with technical leads to troubleshoot
  • Effective leadership and team collaboration skills, working flexibly with cross-functional teams and colleagues in other time zones as required
  • Requirement to travel frequently to client locations within the UK and willingness to travel internationally as required.

 

Qualifications

Technology Stack: Experience with the below tools is expected, and/or experience or be able to self-train on these tools with some introductory guidance from Beamtree's PMO or ITOps team.
